WINNER “2009″ OFF ROAD Camper trailer of the year
The Exodus Kingston has just taken out 2009 “off road” camper trailer of the year award (best crossover camper). These prestigous industry awards were conducted by Camper Trailer Australia magazine. A panel of five judges assessed each camper over a period of days and terrain to rate the best.
Campers were categorised into four sections, soft floor, hard floor, trayback and crossover. As well as taking out best crossover camper, Exodus Campers were runner up in the overall point score. The biggets annual Camper Trailer event in Australia is the Australian Camper Trailer owners national meet. The 2009 national get togehter this year will be held at Nyngan on the Bogan River. This event organised by the web group www.campertrailers.org will run from Sunday 4th October to Friday 9th October. This years event has attracted registration from over 100 camper trailer owners. With an expected turn out in excess of this, the event will be well up on last years Peak Hill meet where 73 camper trailers attended.
Exodus campers will again be well represented at this meet with several owner/members attending. A visit to the www.campertrailers.org site will provide details of this years camp along with a huge amount of camper trailer information. The Australian camper trailer owners group is a non profit organisation welcoming camper trialer owners with free membership.
Off Road Camper Trailer testing
During the past week, we have been undergoing serious off road camper trailer testing.
These trials were an organised industry session involving Exodus campers along with a number of other manufacturers.
We had on hand 5 well known camper trailer identities to assess the capabilities of each manufacturer. A team of photographers and a TV crew also covered the event.
All testing was conducted at the Werribee 4×4 off road proving grounds in Victoria. The experience and feed back gained from these testing sessions will no doubt be used to further fine tune our off road camper trailer capabilities.
Video footage and photos will be available towards the end of October. If you would like to receive more information on these trials & our range of camper trailers, please contact us via our contact page and we will include you on the mail out list.
New Camper Trailer owners
I would like to welcome two new camper trailer owners to Exodus campers.
Rob & Kerry with their Exodus Kingston
Last week Rob & Kerry took delivery of their new Exodus Kingston. We met up at the Queanbeyan show in 2008 and have had many discussions since. Working with Rob & Kerry has been an enjoyable experience, taking theExodus camper to a new level of interior design.
Hopefully Rob & Kerry will share some pictures with us when they return from their planned three month trip around Australia.
Kevin & Mary with their Exodus Barrington
This week, Kevin & Mary hooked up their new Exodus Barrington. Kevin and Mary had been interested in the Exodus Campers for some time, meeting up with us at several shows.
Having seen some pictures of Kevin & Mary’s past trips, I look forward to viewing some future photos of their new Barrington in action.
Congratualations to both couples and welcome to the exodus crew.
Camper Trailer Awards
The NSW (CCIA) caravan and camper trailer industry award night was held this week at the Hunter valley vineyards.
Exodus Campers featured prominently again this year in the category of the best manufacturer of Caravan / camper trailers.
Exodus Campers made it through to one of two finalist companies on the big screen.
Unfortunatly Exodus did not take out the best manufacturer this year, however we are extremely proud to have been recognised as a finalist in these major industry awards for two consecutive years.
Exodus Campers moving forward
In moving forward, the Exodus Campers assembly plant has been relocated.
The new assembly facility is now in the same complex as our fibreglass body building operations.
Bringing the Exodus team closer together has major advantages in reducing manufacturing times.
If you would like to make an appointment to view our new factory, please feel free to contact us.
Camper Trailer D’n'A
Keep watching for updates on the D’n'A camper trailer project.
I was fortunate enough to meet up with a couple at the 2009 Rosehill camping show with very specific camper trailer needs.
Extensive research in the camper industry had failed to satisfy their requirements. After a few emails and several visits to the factory we all agreed to embark on the journey of building an extensively customised Exodus ‘Barrington’.
The owners are very keen to document the build of their camper along with their future travels. Their story will hopefully bring you a little closer to experiencing the nuts and bolts of working closely with us at Exodus Campers.
Camper Trailer Stamp Duty
Good news for Camper Trailer buyers in NSW.
As of July 2009 the stamp duty on the purchase of new camper trailers has been abolished.
The NSW Caravan and Camping Industry Association has been working on this now for quite some time.
The end result is that taking delivery of a new Exodus Barrington camper trailer in NSW is now around $1200 less and a Exodus Kingston camper trailer will be $1800 less.
Penrith Panthers Caravan, Camping and Holiday Show
The Exodus Campers will next be on display at the Penrith Panthers Caravan, Camping and Holiday Show.
This great event is held from September 11th to 13th 2009.
Exodus Campers will also be displaying our Exodus Barrington and Exodus Kingston camper trailers all around the country including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra shows in 2010.
All the above dates to be advised. If you would like updated information on any of these shows please do not hesitate to contact Exodus Campers.
Selected by Vehicle Components Pty Ltd
